Description Technical Specs

Whether it is Kayaking in West Virginia, Lobstering in Marathon, Diving in Maine, Canyoneering in Utah or Gold Dredging in Alaska, TommyDSports has the wetsuit and dive equipment to keep you comfortable and safe.

Suit Specifics

  • It is 3mm in thickness.
  • These suits are made of Neoprene with a Nylon outer and inner layer for comfort and style.
  • The seams are double blind stitched and glued for a nice finish and water tight seal.
  • We use the industries best zippers, YKK #10, these are corrosion free and ensure a consistent easy open and close.
  • This rear zipper suit comes with an extra-long leash to assist you in pulling the rear zipper.

Rear zipper suits are very common type suits for surfers, due to the zipper not rubbing on the board. Rear zippers suits have the misconception that they are harder to get on and off than front zips. If you are able to grab the long leash on the rear zips, they are actually much easier to get on and off. In the end, we sell a ton of both and it comes down to style, feel and use.

The 3mm thickness will keep you warm to water temperatures in the high 60’s while providing maximum flexibility.

For those in water aerobics or swimming to keep in shape, the 3mm model is as thick as you will want to try. Above that your flexibility will be too restrained.

Please check out our chart below for sizing, some of our different styles are cut slightly different. Measure yourself and trust the measurement below, we have 1,000’s of test cases we rely on. These measurements are the size of the suit, you will need to buy a suit that is smaller than your actual measurements.

InseamArm LengthTotal Length

How much will they stretch? Good question, it depends... Since we deal in some really big suits, different parts of the body are more easily squished than others but as a general guideline:
1mm - a lot, 6 to 8 inches, buy these tight
3mm - a good 4 to 6 inches

5mm - 2 to 4 inches no problem
7mm - 2 inches

Now keep in mind the bigger the suit the more stretch, a 6x suit has more surface space to stretch than a Xs. Think of stretching a small rubber band vs a larger one.

5 of 5 Wetsuit June 23, 2021
Reviewer: Ira Burnette from Norcross, GA United States
I was not sure what size would work best for me so I put in the comnent section that I was unsure if I should go with the large. I didn't think I would hear from them once they got my money but to my surprise someone explained to me that the wetsuits run a little small and that I should go with the XL. I'm so thankful I did because it fits great and seems like good quality material.

I already posted a comment on social media about this company regarding the good customer service and quality material, especially for the price!

My review is more about the service than the wetsuit (the wetsuit fits great and does exactly what I need). I operate a underwater Yacht service company, and I constantly am constantly shredding suits on barnacles and oysters. Every time I order from Tommy D sports I get what I need at a great price and quick delivery. Thanks!

5 of 5 Great Value May 10, 2018

Although I haven't used this suit yet am a repeat happy customer and  have no doubt about liking it.
I am 6'3, 52ish chest, 38-40 waist. This 2X 3MM suit feels about perfect when I tried it on.
I have had a failed seam in the past and they shipped me a new suit ASAP with no questions or hassle.
Yes, there are out there that are fancier.... for three to four times the money.
Also better than a rental that someone else has already peed in!

Perfect for winter SUP and kayaking here in South Florida springs and rivers. I've used TommyD for years. Pay more if you want to but it's good gear at a bargain price.
